Health Alert: Ways to Support Healthy Digestion

As you guys know I am not only a 'Hair Mom" but a "Health Mom" too! I am on a mission to create and maintain health habits in my own family. Along with a healthy diet and daily activity I'm learning that it is still very important for me to regulate my digestion, which may or may not be allowing my body to absorb all the much needed nutrients that promote overall good health. I decided to drink a detox tea I found at Whole Foods and make sure to fast every now and then to cleanse my intestinal track. While researching I found this great article from our friends at Truth Theory . I like some of their general posts bc they are light and ring true more often than not. I have been using these tips for the last 2 weeks and I must say, I feel better! 
One tip I practice:

Eat food slowly and chew thoroughly! Such a simple way to ensure better digestion, let me tell you. Its so simple, but most of us don't notice that we eat like ducks! lol Not chewing enough and then swallowing lumps of food that our stomachs and intestines have to work harder to break apart for digestion. This often leaves something behind and then buildup occurs. CHEW YOUR FOOD slowly and often you will find that you eat less bc it gives the stomach time to tell the brain that your're full. Instead of eating fast slow down and chew vigorously! lol
