Product Review

Hey and WELCOME!
These reviews are all based on opinion. I consider price, ingredients, texture, labeling and my PERSONAL experience with each product. I did not make anything reviewed and accept no credit for the creation of said products.

The very first post is about a product line, not just a single product! Shea Moisture Hair Products is the best line I have used thus far. I use it for my daughters hair too! I do co-wash with different products (to be posted later) but we mainly use this line. I love the quality of the product line as well. On each label is the story of how the Shea Moisture line came to be, which is a cute little tidbit. I also like the fact that there are no parabens, mineral oils, sulfates and very very few (almost zero) wax fillers that simply coat the hair instead of actually moisturizing it. Also I like the texture of the product(s), which is thick and creamy. To me that means I don't need to use a lot to get the affect I need, thus said product will last a lil longer.
As far as price! Chile lemme tell you. You can find these wonderful products at Target for as low as $9 a pop. Can't beat that(:

Click to enlarge...Ok... so Ik you have seen Naptural85's vlog post of this amazing hair mud/ conditioner/ shampoo and I must say that after paying $31 dollars for this stuff I was hell bent on seeing how good it really was. I had so much trouble with uploading the detox process (few weeks ago see post history) that I all but gave up on this stuff. But after giving it another try (pics coming soon) I am seeing that with each use Terressentials Hair Mud is doing the dang thing. I LOVE IT! Already may hair is smooth and a-whole-lot more shiny. Although it is a bit messy, being actual mud and all, the results are well worth the extra 5 minutes spent wiping up the extra mess. They have a main store here in MD that I plan to visit very soon and will be instagraming pics like crazy! lol This stuff is all natural, and I mean ALL ORGANIC, smells great and has that thick texture I like to see in my products which, to me, means better quality (concentrated) so less is more. Well, that is if your tresses are short, but if you have "drapes" then...well.. more is more, I guess lol. Anyhoo, just Google this stuff and you'll see that many ppl have done the detox and have loved it! I myself and developing a slight addiction to it! hahaha

Well I am not sure if you all know but, I am a nursing mother. My son is four months old and I plan to nurse him for at least 6 months-one year. I had trouble lactating enough in the beginning and began to take Fenugreek. For those of you who don't know Fenugreek is a natural herb used to promote overall health and more specifically in new mothers, promote lactation! I began to take them and pow! More milk in less then 4 days. They can be purchased online or at any local drug store for about $11 (100 capsule bottle). There are some funky side effects though, like increased sweating, but the upside is the herb makes your sweat smell like maple syrup! Cool huh? I love this stuff! There are other benefits as well, check them out at Home Remedies Web.

Hello mommas! What can I say about this weeks product! Well first of all its DA BOMB! lol As mentioned before I am a mother to a new baby boy and I plan to nurse him for as long as I am comfortable doing so. He is thriving and doing well! But there were some hurdles I needed to get over in the beginning when he was first born. I was so tired all the time and after pumping late nights and trying to store milk I found that I wasn't meeting his demands and had to supplement with formula, which I did not like to do. I sought out other alternatives to increasing my milk supply aside from Fenugreek and drinking more water. I went to Babycenter.com and found a slew of interesting information about a tea called Mother's Milk! ^^^^ this stuff is great! Its inexpensive but you only get 16 bags in one box, and according to the instructions you MUST drink three cups of this stuff a day for a few days before you will see any noticeable increase in your milk supply. Luckily it only took about two days before I noticed a change. I was able to store milk and still feed him til he was full. I am still working on storing milk now, seeing as how I have just moved....again xD smh Looking for a new job and looking forward to going bk to school, all very stress inducing and that effects your milk supply :(. I gave definitely seen a decrease :-O so I popped open my box of tea and starting brewing away!!! I got my box offline for about 5 dollars but I am sure if you go to a local Organic food store (Whole Foods, etc.) you'll find a 16 count box for about 3-4 dollars. Great taste too! I must say I am pleased with this product. Here is a list of all the pros and cons of this tea at Livestrong.com.

First of all let me say that we all know that Johnson's Baby anything is, like, the go-to baby product of the century. We have all been raised on this stuff and no doubt have tried it on our own children. When I had my first child (in 2009) I used the pink bottle. lol You know what I'm talking about! Then after MJ got a little older we transitioned to the purple bottle with lavender which is supposed to calm them at bedtime...HA! sure it does, nevertheless the smell is pleasant:) I did notice, one day while shopping, that there were green bottles next to the purple set and became intrigued. I started reading the labels and comparing and let me say, the green bottle (depicted above) is way better. There are a lot less "oxides" and other watered down wax fillers and alcohol based ingredients. The front panel boasts "98% natural" and that's a bit misleading, considering there are still a lot of "other" ingredients. Also let's not forget that natural and organic in the retail world mean very different things. But if you're looking for the convenience (and comfort) of a well-known brand and decent prices and semi-natural (more natural than not) ingredients that are definitely less harsh on your LO (little one) skin then I definitely recommend this wonderful product. I use it for my infant and we love it!

Just For Me Hair Milk Conditioner 13.5 ozI have used three products to wash my daughter's hair. When she was an infant I used Johnson's and now that she is almost three I use Shea Moisture. What can I say, Shea Moisture hydrates her curly locks efficiently w/o adding oil which is important bc in the summer oil and sweat equals a greasy mess... (enough about Shea Moisture lls) But what about in between you ask? Well when she first turned two I realized that her hair was getting long and Johnson's products dried her tresses out. My friend, Jackie (we'll see more from her in the future), recommended Just For Me Hair Milk. I was skeptical at first, but after reading the ingredients and comparing with other children's products at my local Korean owned beauty supply store (side eye) I found that this was the best. There is some cetyl-like products in it, but after I used it on my daughters hair I loved the way it smelled and how silky it made her hair feel. I used the shampoo as well, but never used the styling creme. I'm not exactly sure why but I thought it may be too heavy for her hair. It only costs about seven dollars per bottle and its worth it. And if you live in the (cough) hood like I did xD, then you can surely find it at the hair/beauty store lol. I like this product for any hair type and just so you know, if you've ran out of your own hair shampoo or conditioner, this will work fine until that next hair supply run...LOL Don't ask me how I know hahaha xD

What can I say about Aloe Vera Gel/Juice that hasn't already been confirmed? Hmmmm Lemme see... Lol This stuff is stupendous! The benefits of Aloe Vera to ones body are numerous and so you know that means if it's applied directly to the hair then its like WA-POW! It's a wonderful and natural way to seal much needed moisture in your hair and replenish any moisture you have lost. I would visit the educated and "hair savvy" Naturalistas over at Blackhairplanet.com for a more detailed list as to why this stuff is so great for the hair. And the price? WOOOOOOO child lemme tell you! You can go to Vitacost.com and get a 32 oz. bottle of this amazing brand (Lilly of the Desert) of A.V. Gel for less than $6 (not including shipping). Now you know you cannot beat that with a broom honey!!! I will say one can get a little addicted to how good this stuff is to your strands so use it in moderation, but trust me when I say that you only need a little bc it's so potent. Now if your hair is longer than 8-12 inches than use as needed ,but I only need about two tablespoons full and my hair is soft as I-don't-know-what! lol Now you can use this as a deep conditioner or a daily conditioner, it's up to you! Either way it'll be close to the best $6 you've ever spent.

The name says it all... Origins, yummy lol! I used to work as a counter girl at Macy's for this line and after sampling it,I knew I would be a life long customer. The Organic "Foaming Face Wash" is the best! It's minty and frothy and a little goes a very long way. If you have an oily complexion I'd recommend Origins "A Perfect World" Antioxidant Cleanser. It gives you age fighting antioxidants in a silky smooth product. And if you have combination skin, "Checks and Balances" Foaming Face Wash is the best for you, balancing out the dry and oily areas. The prices for the daily cleansing products vary by size, but you can find the size/price you can afford ;HERE... I currently use "Foaming Face Wash" for daily cleansing, although I am thinking of permanently switching over to "A Perfect World", "Modern Friction" for exfoliating, "Brighter by Nature" serum for complexion and 'Have a Nice Day" for moisturizing. You can find all these products and more information about the entire line at Origins.com!

Lawd child! This stuff is so awesome. I adore it! Now I just so happen to do my reviews on products I actually have used. Most of the time though I choose things that I would use again or recommend for others. Well this oil is no exception!!! I know that when you see shampoo and conditioner bottles they boast "Vitamin E inside" or something of that nature... So I figured just cut out the middle man and go straight for the source. I picked this up at Walmart in the Pharmacy section for a measly 4 dollars and some change, but lemme tell you..... Its well worth it! This stuff makes my hair feel so soft and, just the way I like it, a little goes a long way. The downside to any natural oil is that its a bit heavy and if you are and sweat box like me (smh) than oil in your hair means oil on your face and neck (if your hair is out). I recommend using it daily as a base before styling for extra added moisture and protection, plus Vitamin E Oil has many benefits for the hair! Check back next week for a new POW and pictures of before and after pics of my hot oil treatment with Vitamin E oil!

I love this stuff..... I mean what else is there to say xD Its all the milky goodness w/o the lactose! Its a little bit more than a regular half gallon of milk but it's so worth it. Period lol that's it that's all... check out the benefits of the soy milk HERE. Ba-dee-ba-dee-ba-dee That's all for this week folks :)

Ok ok ok! I know you've seen this yellow label in the skincare aisle in Target. And you have walked by it and glanced at it then say "Naaaah!" in your head. Then you see it again.... and again. Then you pick it up and read the label, hmmmmm. ANNNND then you fall in love! Burt's Bees is an amazing product line and is a great contender in the organic/natural trend. The Peach and Willow bark scrub is so wonderful. The little pieces of willow bark are very coarse so you don't need a lot, but the best part is the creamy peach-infused part that leaves your skin feeling smooth and clean. The price is a reasonable eight dollars per. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy, so yes! a little goes a long way. Visit the Burt's Bees website for more information.

OK! So this bad boy GRACO Sit and Stand Double Stroller is the business! I could do cartwheels and some more stuff about how great this thing is... WOOOOO child! I just got the shudders down my beautiful back lol. This thing transforms twelve ways... You can take this part off and attach this other part and all that jazz. And at $200 dollars (plus tax) you can have one of these bad boys. I got mine right after my son was born bc I knew that I did not want to carry him on my chest in a Baby Bjorn carrier all the time. (Ouch! did someone say back pains). And its great for those long trips to the mall when my three year old gets tired and needs and nap. It is a little heavy and to fit it in your trunk you may need to unsnap a couple parts, but its worth it! The little basket in the middle is roomy enough for your bags and the kids bags. There are three little compartments for keys and drinks and when the kids get bigger you can take off the top seat and it turns into and sit and stand for your big kid and the smaller child can go in the front! It literally grows with your children. I mean how can you not get excited about that??? I wouldn't recommend taking it onto the bus though bc its so cumbersome (trust me on this one) but yeah if you got a car or a ride then you are GRACO to go! xD (so corny lol)

You know what this is... I mean lets be real. I cannot, absolutely CAN NOT live without my spray bottle. I must wet my hair in order to comb it, let alone style it babe. (LOL) My spray bottle is not as pretty as this one but its gets the job done. The contents are water, Organic Aloe Vera Juice and Vitamin E Oil. Simple right??? Your concoction may be a lot more complex ,but for me the "Juice" (as i like to call it), is the first half of my hair styling regimen. My daughter has a love hate relationship with the spray bottle ,but we're working on it xD. You can find one in your local hair supply store or in WalMart for less than $6 (depending upon the size and features). Do yourself a favor and get one!

Well darling its another P.O.W. and this one is crucial like crazy! So unless you've been living under a rock for the past like, thousand years then you already know the benefits of EVOO. Yes EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)! So you've seen that commercial when they guys tells the one lady that high fructose corn syrup is bad for you and then the lady says "Why?" and the guy has the dick look on his face 0_0. LOL It's kinda the same thing with EVOO, ppl will tell you that it;s good for you but then they can't really tell you why. Well the fine ppl at LIVESTRONG.com explain this and offer up a method to deep condition your hair using this fine oil. The picture above is of a brand i found at Whole Foods, but you can find organic EVOO at your local food store or health market. I love this stuff. I have done a hot oil treatment before and I loved the way my hair felt afterwards. There isn't much of a smell and the texture is rich (and we all know how I feel about product texture). I spend about 5-7 dollars for an 10 oz. bottle of the good stuff. Maybe you can find a brand you like and leave a comment at the bottom of the page. Now GO! Go buy you some EVOO, Shea Butter and Vitamin E oil (above) and mix you up a batch of my basic Hair Creme! Recipe COMING SOON...

Ok ladies! Now this is a little personal but these things have saved my life on many occasion. Especially when Aunt Flo comes to visit. These wipes are convenient and smell fantastic. Not to mention they are hypo-allergenic and don't mess with your PH down there which is important. You can get this box for lower than 5 bucks. LOOOOVE ITTT!

Lemme jut tell you how much I love, love, l0ve these head bands. For sistahs like me with big hair and little time to groom it so sometime a quick pull back ponytail is in order! lol Now I'll be the first to admit that if you stretch them too much they will break and/or slop out. "What does that mean?" you ask. Think about it xD Anyhoo these babies come 5 in a pack for under 3 dollars and last a helluva long time. Now STYLE AWAY!

11/7/12
Alright ladies, you know what this bad boy is. And chances are you already know what its used for, and I am sure you either already own one or know where to get one right!? Yup girls, a loofah is what I'm yapping about. You can find the cheap one for like $.99 or you can get fancy and spend up to $20 or more for the organic sponges that will caress while they exfoliate. Since you haven't been under a rock and you know the basics about the benefits of owning a loofah I'll just give you some of my favorite brands and how much they are:)
Check em out!

I love me some essential oils honey! I got me some Jojoba oil, Vitamin E oil, homemade Lavender Oil and Sunflower seed oil. I wanted to get some of this stuff here! And I did, but just a little sample. Peppermint oil! It smells great and tingles to. There are many uses for Peppermint oil. Some of which and be found >>>Here<<<. A few drops of this fabulous smelling oil massaged into your scalp will promote hair growth while moisturizing your tresses. You can expect to pay good money for any essential oil and Peppermint oil is no different. I love the way this stuff smells. I have yet to mix it into other things but I have used a small amount of it after a deep condition and I loved it! Be careful though! You should def dilute any essential oil before applying it however! A little goes a long way!
