Family Movie Night: Despicable Me 2

Hey People!

This is the second installment of this great thing we call movie night! Yes we are keeping the tradition going in my family with my kids! Last Saturday afternoon we saw Despicable Me 2!

So funny, lemme tell you!  These movies are really chuckle-worthy and I love it! My three year old, MJ, was fully engaged and enjoyed the movie! But my son is sixteen months! Ummmmm...yeah lol Let's just say I had to leave the theatre a few times. What little I did get to see I enjoyed.

Steve Carell was hilarious as the voice of Gru.  His halfway Russian slash Hungarian accent was just as funny now as it was in the first movie. The plot was a little all over the place sometime, but I like that the little girls he adopted in the first one were just as present in this sequel if not more. As always I will not disclose too much information, but  Gru found himself a love interest, Shannon, played by the hilarious Kristen Schaal. I think it completes his family and wraps up any loose ends. If there is a third one I'm betting it will have more children in it lol.

There were so many touching moments that I appreciated, like when the youngest little girl had to do an assignment for Mother's Day only she couldn't relate to what the other children experienced with their mothers because she didn't have one. That's when Gru realized what was missing in their family. That's a topic that's sensitive and very relevant in our society. It touches on adoption and blended families two VERY relevant social issues. I believe that's very important. Although you want to keep the children's interest with bright colors and physicality and silly faces, a little substance certainly doesn't hurt! This movie brings all that to the table! Check out the previews below and lemme know what you think!

Have you seen the movie? Do you plan to have movie night with  your family soon? I wanna hear it all :)
