Zimmerman Found NOT GUILTY!

Were you sitting at the television like I was, stunned at what I was seeing?
Yes ladies and gentlemen, George Zimmerman was found "NOT GUILTY" in a trial that shook the modern world.

In case you have been under a rock, Trayvon Martin, a young African American teen aged boy in Florida was walking home with a can of tea and a package of skittles. He just so happen to be wearing a black hoodie pulled over his head. George Zimmerman, a white, middle aged man was on neighborhood watch at the time when Trayvon walked passed him on his way to his family's house. It was dark and Zimmerman automatically mistook Trayvon for a delinquent and proceeded to follow him.  There was some sort of scuffle and Trayvon was shot to death by Zimmerman.
This is where it gets fuzzy.  Zimmerman says he was defending himself, but others would say that Zimmerman was harassing young Trayvon and he was defending himself. "Why did young Trayvon have to die???", is a question we will forever ponder.

In this day and age, in a country so "forward thinking" as the U.S.A. one would think that racial tension is something of the past.  We like to believe that hundreds of years after slavery, well over 125 years after the Emancipation Proclamation and fifty years after Martin Luther King and Malcolm X walked the planet, that racism and prejudice would've at least simmered down some.  It is my opinion this day, in the wake of such an obviously lopsided decision, that racism is here to stay. As long as people are different, there will be a select few in that collective who harbor ill feelings toward another person, simply because of the way they look. SMH.

I believe it is a choice, however. If you are a racist in this world of technology and in the age of education and knowledge, it is DEFINITELY by choice.  I am just so incredibly saddened by this verdict and at the same time not surprised. In America, the only people who can get in trouble for killing a black man is another black man. HARSH, but the reality is so true. WAKE UP PEOPLE, know your surroundings. Know who you are dealing with and what the consequences are.

My son, a little black boy in the Unites States is already an endangered species. He is going to be targeted for any and everything, especially bc he is black. I know this. It is not a suspicion or a biased opinion, it is what it is. I have been on both sides of the bridge and have seen the green grass and the muddy holes. I know what's out there and have seen first hand how the justice system screws over black men. It is up to us to educate our youth and ourselves first and foremost! Teaching your child about the realities of the world they live in is utmost in this society which is constantly contradicting itself when it comes to the Judicial System and its involvement with urban youth.

White or black, wrong is wrong and Zimmerman was wrong. PERIOD!
What are your feelings about the Martin/Zimmerman case verdict??? Please share...
